Leading the future in wastewater solutions that drive environmental and economic sustainability.

Users around the world have cleaned up their waterways with Aquaritin. Proven results from commercial, municipal, and private users.

Aquaritin is an affordable and natural low-impact alternative to expensive mechanical filtration methods for the treatment of wastewater.

In 2021, the United Nations estimates that 80% of wastewater is released to the environment without adequate treatment.

The growth of urban demand for water in developing countries requires new approaches to wastewater collection and management. The opportunities from exploiting wastewater as a resource are enormous. Safely managed wastewater is an affordable and sustainable source of water, energy, nutrients and other recoverable materials. Reused wastewater is now seen as a potential resource and its use or recycling after suitable treatment can provide economic and financial benefits and may help address challenges such as basic sanitation, food production and industrial development.

The cost of treating wastewater through traditional wastewater treatment plants is estimated to be $0.30 (USD) per 1000 liters with an initial capital cost of $1 million per 3.5 MLD (millions of liters/day) capacity. For many developing countries this cost is out of reach. Aquaritin treatment costs just $0.10 USD per 1000 liters and can be directly applied to wastewater drains, thereby avoiding initial capital expenditure.

Aquaritin Water Solutions products are advanced nanoscale liquid formulations designed to promote the growth of diatoms in various polluted water bodies impacted by human, animal, industrial, agricultural and mining waste. Together with targeted microbes, they lower nutrient load, fecal coliform and increase oxygen and clarity in the wastewater.

Aquaritin Water Solutions products solve a variety of water pollution problems such as industrial, agricultural, mining and human waste water. Our range of products are being successfully used to address polluted water bodies such as palm oil effluent ponds, coal mine effluent, leather tanning effluent, oil contaminated water, major algal blooms and fish kill situations. Aquaritin is an in-situ solution whereby it can be directly dosed into the target water body, thus avoiding the need for large capital expenditure. Nanotechnology-enabled Aquaritin allows our customers to resolve pollution issues in very large lakes, rivers and coastal waters with great ease. Water parameters such as BOD & COD, Ammonia, Fecal Coliform & Total Coliform, Dissolved Oxygen, Heavy Metals, Oil and Grease, Sludge, etc., are all positively impacted within a short duration. Rejuvenation of marine life and marine diversity is frequently seen following Aquaritin applications.

A River Saved!

The Kiratpur-Kalyanpuri drain is located in Kiratpur Sahib, Rupnagar, Punjab, India and joins the Sutlej River, a major source of irrigation and drinking water.

It faces significant water quality issues due to sewage from nearby towns and commercial enterprises.

The drain is characterized by high levels of benthic sludge buildup, foul smell, and contamination from solid wasteand falling leaves and debris.
This project, began on 20th November and concluded a month later on 22nd December 2023. Water tests were conducted independently by the client as well as by Aquaritin.

River Gong, Malaysia

Sungai Gong (River Gong) is a 250 MLD river in Malaysia. Unfortunately, it is polluted with effluents from industry, agricultural farms, domestic wastewater & slaughter houses.

A pilot trial leveraging the breakthrough technology from Aquaritin was deployed for 3 months from Nov 2020 to Feb 2021 to assess the effectiveness against multiple point and nonpoint pollutants.

The trial was able to achieve its goals whereby within 12 weeks the water quality improved from Class IV to Class II as defined under Malaysian River Standards. There was a significant improvement in terms of chemical parameters such as Dissolved Oxygen, BOD5, COD, Ammonia, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC).

AquaBioSolution® Treatment for IWK STP

The implementation of this project is to reduce electricity consumption and cost of Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in all Indah Water Konsortium STP station across Malaysia and achieve the permitted water quality level set by the Department of Environment (DOE).

Project Objectives

  • Reduce operational time of aeration system by 80% per month and comply with DOE standards.
  • Maintain compliance of Final Effluents after 80% reduction of operational aeration system.
  • Reduce both electricity and maintenance operation cost (i.e desludging, replacement of spare parts) of
    IndahWater Konsortium Sdn. Bhd.

Interim Study Conclusions

  • Indah Water Konsortium was able to reduce its electricity consumption on aeration system by 80% in all 18 sewage
treatment plants while still complying with DOE standards.
  • Final Effluent (FE) of STPs were able to comply due to the nano-scale oxygen released by Diatoms. AquaBiosolution
provides Diatom with sufficient nutrients needed to proliferate and carry out photosynthesis process to release fine
oxygen that will then be consumed by aerobic bacteria & microbes, enabling them to carry out aerobic respiration to
digest and disintegrate organic & inorganic pollutants contained in sewerage effluents.
  • AquaBioSolution is a sustainable green technology that is able to treat sewerage effluent without causing secondary
pollution while reducing reliance on mechanical means (Aeration System) thus reducing electricity and maintenance
costs while complying to DOE standards. This is proven through 3 months POC trials in 19 STPs throughout Pulau
    Pinang & Seberang Prai.

Elimination of Scum, Heavy Metals and Odour in Craigieburn, Australia

The Growling Grass Frog Nature Reserve Lake is a stormwater catchment on the south-east tip of Craigieburn in Victoria, Australia. It incorporates a wetland system that screens and cleans incoming stormwater from the surrounding light industrial estate. It is home to the Growling Grass Frog (Litoria raniformis) which is listed as vulnerable under the Australian Government Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).

Greendrop Solutions was contracted by the Hume City Council on 26 April, 2020 to eliminate what looked like a greasy scum, any potential heavy metals in the Growling Grass Frog Nature Reserve Lake and severe odour emanating from the Lake. Greendrop Solutions proposed a 2 month, 12 application program of treating Growling Grass Frog Nature Reserve Lake with a combination of Aquaritin Water Solutions Waste Water and Aquaritin Oil Degrader. A successful outcome would include the visual elimination of the oily scum, elimination of the odour and increased dissolved oxygen levels.

Before

After

Dosing of Aquaritin was undertaken at approximately 30 points around the entire lake to ensure an even application. Water tests were taken on 26 Feb 2020 (prior to first dose), 5 Mar, 11 Mar, 21 Mar and 7 April 2020. Tests were suspended thereafter as the nutrient levels were stable. These water tests were taken at the incoming and outgoing points. Water samples were also collected from the incoming, mid and outgoing points.

Over the project duration, nitrogen levels were reduced by 80%, total phosphorus by 91%, BOD by 98%, TSS by 95%, TDS by 50% and dissolved oxygen went up by 469%.
